Dr. Thissell lives in Boston with his wife, two sons, and daughter and he loves the vibrant active culture here. Dr. Thissell chose to become a chiropractor because he needed to share the same healing effects that he experienced as a patient. When he was five years old he was experiencing chronic earaches, headaches, and neck pain. His doctors proposed surgery. The recommended operation involved making incisions in his eardrum and inserting tubes to drain excess fluids. His mother sought a second opinion and found a skilled chiropractor who helped to solve the problems gently without an invasive surgery.
Dr. Thissell is an alumnus of New York Chiropractic College because he completed the 4,620 course hours that comprise the doctor of chiropractic (D.C.) curriculum. He studied the subjects of the basic sciences, anatomy with the use of cadaveric specimens, diagnostic imaging, clinical technique, and case management instructed by both medical doctors and chiropractors.
He moved to New York City to complete clinical rotations at the Levittown Health Center on Long Island. This experience involved time working with students at Stonybrook University and caring for the geriatric population at the Salvation Army in Freeport.
Dr. Thissell gained an associateship position at Owego Chiropractic, P.C., a large integrative health care facility located in New York State. He has administered successful care in thousands of unique patient encounters. He considers it his duty to see you as a unique individual and to learn from you. He seeks to transform his approach to meet your needs.
To become proficient in a variety of techniques, he successfully completed courses of study focused on myofascial release, pain management, low force mobilization, and applied kinesiology. He frequently attends seminars to increase his knowledge of the latest chiropractic research and techniques.
Dr. Thissell is board-certified because he achieved a satisfactory score on the national board's (NBCE) Exams: Part I, II, III, IV and physiotherapy. He is currently licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts and he continues to be in good standing with the Board.
